The Circassians, are an ancient nation whose historic homeland lies in the North Caucasus in the present-day Russian Federation. Following the Russo-Circassian War (1763 – 1864), the vast majority of Circassians were removed from their ethnic homeland and scattered across the Ottoman Empire.

With the overwhelming majority of our nation living outside the borders of our historic ethnic homeland, as a whole our nation enjoys limited state benefits with no formal political state, few dedicated resources, and virtually no efforts to help safe guard the long-term viability of our people.

Yet despite these and other challenges, in the near century and a half since our expulsion, Circassians continue to foster a shared sense of national identity, and a yearning to restore the viability of their nation.
